Happening on the first Saturday of every April, the world-famous DeBruycker Charolais Bull Sale brings loyal customers back to Montana from the United States time and time again – many attend the bull sale every year hoping to come away with one of the best bulls in Montana.
Despite the pandemic and its restrictions, the 2021 bull sale managed to go ahead, and attendees were delighted at being presented with the opportunity to bid for nearly 700 Charolais bulls.
Every year the bull sale in Montana is hotly-anticipated, where competition to buy the best Charolais bulls is fierce – and 2022 is set to be no different, with another 700 or so prime bulls up for grabs!

The legend: Lloyd DeBruycker
There will, however, be one noticeable absence at the 2022 DeBruycker Charolais bull sale; DeBruycker Charolais’ Founder: the legendary Lloyd DeBruycker.
Lloyd Henry DeBruycker, 87, of Dutton, Montana died from natural causes on 1 September, 2021.
Much-loved by his family and highly-respected by his peers, his remarkable understanding of the cattle industry and the need for exemplary customer service has made the DeBruycker family business what it is today – a high quality, trusted household name.
Lloyd and his wife Jane are widely renowned for being trailblazers of the Charolais breed over the past 60 years, and DeBruycker Charolais is a highly sought-after name in the U.S. cattle breeding industry.
“He created a new standard for the quality of the Charolais breed in America and that will endure,” says Dr Francisco Javier Ruvalcaba Coyaso, “I’m sure right now he’s in the Charolais Hall of Fame!”
